Thomas is a designer / maker based in London, with a dual practice: half in industrial design and the other in sculptural wood carving, tied together by the goal to create playful forms.

What is your favorite design book?

JB Blunk, Edited by Mariah Nielson and Åbäke, Co-published by Blunk Books and Dent De Leone. One of my greatest inspirations and the person who opened my eyes to the forms you can achieve in sculpture. This book details the career of JB Blunk from his early days in ceramics through to his development into large scale functional wooden sculptures. The moments he created in his work blow me away, I consistently go back to this book to be inspired.

What is your favorite design object?

Max Lamb - Urushi Split Armchair (Black) 2021. [Cypress, Wajima-nuri Urushi Lacquer.] To me there isn’t a more characterful, simple, unique and honest chair. It could’ve been made today or 1000 years ago.
