The painting Inverted Dream (2023) depicts shapes of various colors placed on top of a black background. The work was created through one of Fedor’s erasure techniques, wherein, in a search for aesthetic unity, he decides to overlay black paint onto a base of colorful abstract shapes. He adds so much black paint that what remains are only vague remnants of the original painting. The final product is a harmonious interplay of fragments of paint seeming to slowly float in space, producing a calming effect for the viewer.
